Jo has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Landscape Architecture) from RMIT and has extensive experience both as a sole practitioner and consulting for a medium sized architectural practice. Her work has varied from individual domestic projects, major residential sub-divisions, parklands and landscape restorations. Over the past ten years Jo has worked on a broad range of landscape projects and gained experience in contemporary urban design, wetland designs and water-sensitive design systems. Much of her work has been in sustainable landscape design using indigenous vegetation.
Jo strongly believes that landscape design should draw upon the existing character of the place, location, topography and the broader context. A landscape design should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also functional, practical, durable and be designed within ecological sustainable principles.
